With a field of 38 enthusiastic competitors, our School Chess Tournament ended today and it was our 6th class pupil Josh Dineen who was crowned grandmaster for 2025! With sharp strategy, cool composure and brilliant moves, Josh navigated his way through intense matches to claim the coveted top spot!
Twin brothers Óisín & Diarmuid O’Sullivan were runners up in 2nd and 3rd place respectively while 5th class pupil Doireann Bradfield finished in 4th place! A huge well done to everyone who competed and had such great fun over the few days!
A big shout-out also to two of our past pupils and previous champions, Alex Scannell & Orla Wycherley who returned to their alma mater to help adjudicate at this year’s tournament!
