5th and 6th class stepped back in time on a fascinating historical walk through our twin villages of Ballineen & Enniskeane on Thursday! Our guide for the day was none other than local historian and former school principal Con McCarthy who lead the tour to all the relevant sites while imparting fascinating information and stories about our local people and the villages’ rich and varied history and heritage! It was a fantastic opportunity and experience for our pupils to learn about the amazing local history and folklore of the streets we walk on and the buildings we see and enter every day! A big thank you to Con for the wonderful manner in which he imparted the historical information and for being so generous with his time!
